In 2025, statements made about the festival and Swami Brahmeshanand led to legal complaints and controversy.
- A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against social activist Xencor Polgi regarding remarks made about the festival and Swami Brahmeshanand.[18]
- An FIR was also registered against activist Rama Kankonkar.[19]
- Legal proceedings related to bail were initiated by an individual involved in these complaints.[20]
The controversies centered around allegations that statements made by the activists were offensive to religious sentiments.
