Plot[edit]

Following the attack on the farm, Goblin Slayer receives a letter from Sword Maiden asking him to locate Noble Fencer, the daughter of a noble family who ran away to become an adventurer and has recently gone missing on a goblin quest.

Goblin Slayer, Priestess, High Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman and Lizard Priest thwart a goblin attack on a village near where Noble Fencer went missing. Goblin Slayer infects the last goblin with a detachable poisoned arrow tip so when it returns to its nest all goblins will become sick. Based on information from the villagers, Goblin Slayer learns Noble Fencer and her party were attempting to starve the goblins in their nest. After infiltrating the nest themselves, High Elf Archer is wounded with an arrow tip similar to Goblin Slayers, who is curious that the Goblins learned to use them so quickly.

After treating High Elf Archers wound they locate Noble Fencer on an altar to the God of Wisdom. Priestess believes either a Dark Elf or a Priest from the Evil Sect is trying to teach goblins how to use Miracles for healing and protection as Priestess does. However, Goblin Slayer claims it is likely a Goblin Paladin.

A flashback shows Noble Fencer and her party slaying several goblins and trapping the rest in their nest. While waiting for the goblins to starve, their own food supplies began to run out and morale began to drop. Having underestimated the goblins, the party started to argue among themselves, but Noble Fencer insisted her plan would work. Noble Fencer agreed to return to the village for supplies but was ambushed by the remaining goblins who killed her party before capturing her.

Goblin Slayer returns Noble Fencer to the village to recover. Priestess explains the God of Wisdom is notoriously fickle and will grant blessings indiscriminately to anyone seeking knowledge, even goblins. Goblin Slayer believes the goblins' real hideout is located in a ruined dwarven fortress. Noble Fencer insists on going with them to retrieve her sword and Goblin Slayer agrees since she would only go alone if he refused.

Goblin Slayer, Dwarf Shaman and Lizard Priest disguise themselves as worshipers of the God of Wisdom while High Elf Archer, Priestess and Noble Fencer dress as captives. Goblin Slayer also provides everyone magic rings for breathing underwater since one of the side effects is a higher tolerance for cold. Fooled by the ruse, a Goblin Priest allows them into the fortress. Overcome by rage and grief the Noble Fencer beats the Goblin Priest to death.

Hundreds of goblins gather in the courtyard and Goblin Slayer realizes the Paladin is about to be crowned Goblin King. However, Noble Fencer’s brand scar burns in proximity to the Goblin Paladin and she cries in pain, attracting the goblins. Lizard Priest, High Elf Archer and Dwarf Shaman save the other prisoners while Noble Fencer insists she needs her sword so she can finally go home. Goblin Slayer duels the Goblin Paladin, who has the sword, while Dwarf Shaman, Lizard Priest and High Elf Archer set off explosions, allowing Goblin Slayer and the others to escape.

The goblin army pursues them as they flee down the mountain to a deep ravine where Goblin Slayer faces the Goblin Paladin, who has already learned from their previous duel and grown more skilled. Goblin Slayer manages to disarm and kill the Goblin Paladin before Noble Fencer uses lightning magic to cause an avalanche, sweeping the goblins and Goblin Slayer into the ravine. The next morning, to everyone’s relief, Goblin Slayer emerges from the snow unharmed, with the sword. High Elf Archer realizes the avalanche was Goblin Slayer’s plan all along, hence why he gave everyone water breathing rings in case they were buried in the snow.

With her sword returned Noble Fencer decides to return to her parents and mourn her lost friends. Meanwhile, Goblin Slayer avoids the New Year’s celebrations and keeps an eye on the town, knowing goblins like to raid on New Year’s Eve. He shares his worries with Priestess that based on the mining equipment in the fortress, the Goblin Paladin was trying to learn how to refine metal to make stronger weapons and armor, meaning he must be more cautious than ever about the dangers smarter goblins might pose. He also hopes Priestess will continue fighting with him. The two then continue watching over the town together.
