Godfrey “Fregur” Eguakun (born 28 February 1985) is a Nigerian entrepreneur, mechanical engineer, aviation technologist, project manager, Philanthropist and creative industry expert. He is the Chairman and Group CEO of Monkey Media limited. He is well popularly known as Founder of Monkey Media House Records a subsidiary of Monkey Media Limited, Jet Engine expert and Philanthropis[1][2]t[3].

Early life and Education

Godfrey Eguakun was born in Oshogbo, Osun state to Fredrick Imuetiyan Eguakun and Florence Osaboyien Eguakun nee Aghayere. He is the last of eight children and is originally from Ikpoba Okha LGA, Benin City, Edo state, Nigeria where his parents met. His father was an Electric and Electronic engineer and worked at the Power Holding Company of Nigeria “PHCN” (formally known as the National Electric Power Authority “NEPA”), his mother was a businesswoman. Godfrey was born in Oshogbo Osun state in 1985 before moving to Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan with his parents in 1992 where he completed his primary education at Ayodele Nursery and Primary school and Government College, Ibadan from 1993 – 1995. In 1996, Godfrey moved to Lagos with his parent where he attended Topmost International Comprehensive Secondary School in 1999 before obtaining his Mechanical Engineering degree from the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo State in 2007. Godfrey worked at Access Bank of Nigeria PLC in 2008 and later moved to Florida, USA in 2009 where he obtained his Associate degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology from National Aviation Academy, Clearwater, Florida in 2011. He is an alumnus of Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology in 2016.


Early entertainment career[edit]

In 2006, Godfrey and his friends at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma have become famous for hosting the best and most memory parties in the university. He also worked as a club promoter for several clubs within Edo state and nurtured the idea of setting up his own club later in future.

The Mechanic Engineer[edit]

Godfrey graduated from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma with a Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 and later went on to acquire an associate degree in Aviation maintenance technology from the National Aviation academy, Florida in 2011 as well as a Bachelor of science in Avaition Maintenance Technology from the Thomas Edison State University, New Jersey in 2016.

Monkey Media Limited[edit]

In 2016, Godfrey made a 1.1 million dollars investment into Monkey Media Limited, earning himself the largest share of the international media company rising to the position of the company chairman and chief executive officer. In 2017, He founded Monkey Media House Records. He discovered the first talent under the label “AkayCentric” and official signed him onto the recording company in 2017.
