The Goldback is a voluntary, gold-based currency first produced in 2019 in Utah by 5 people under GoldBack, Inc. The currency is laminated with .999 24k gold and comes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50, backed by 1/1000th oz, 1/200 oz, 1/100th oz, 1/40 oz, and 1/20 oz respectively. The currency is used in New Hampshire, Nevada, and Utah.

History of the GoldBack[edit]

The company first began from a dream from Jeremy Gordon, co-founder of GoldBack, Inc, where he paid for items at a grocery store with gold notes of different denominations. When this happened, he had already tried to create the idea of small gold for a while. He proceeded to contact Adam Trexler, president of Valaurum, a company that produces gold notes with small amounts.
