Golding Cay

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Golding Cay, also known as Jeff, is an island in The Bahamas currently owned by Chandler Hallow, friend of American YouTuber and philanthropist MrBeast.[1]

History[edit]

On August 8, 2020, American YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, uploaded a video titled "I Spent $1,000,000 On Lottery Tickets and WON."[2] In the video, Donaldson did in fact spend one million dollars on lottery tickets, only winning back about 700,000 dollars. He explained to his friends that he would use these funds to purchase Golding Gay, and that he would have them compete for ownership of it.

In his next video, titled "I Bought A Private Island," uploaded on August 13, 2020, MrBeast explained to his viewers that he had just purchased Golding Cay, and the remainder of the video is dedicated to him and his friends exploring the island.[3] He gave the choice of what to rename the island to his friend Chandler Hallow, who claimed that he would name it "Jeff." At the end of the video, MrBeast explained that in his next video, which he said would be uploaded in two days, ten people would compete for ownership of the island, of whom only one would win.

Two days later, on August 15, 2020, MrBeast uploaded a video to his channel titled "Last To Leave $800,000 Island Keeps It," documenting the competitions among his friends for ownership of the island.[4] In the final challenge, the island was won by his friend Chandler Hallow, who had originally given the island the name "Jeff."
