From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Gone Are the Days is a 2018 American western film [1] about an old outlaw trying to get one final score. It stars prolific voice actor (Lance Henriksen) and (Tom Berenger) with an appearance by (Danny Trejo).

Plot[edit]

Taylon Flynn (Lance Henriksen) suffers from a cough and fever during a storm. A doctor enters his room, whom Taylon thinks is his friend Virgil. He gives Taylon some medicine and leaves the house. Once Taylon recovers, he takes some medicine, makes breakfast and begins writing a letter. He goes outside and begins having flashbacks of a hanging from a tree in his yard and attempts in vain to chop it down, becoming exhausted. Soon his young friend Virgil arrives and Taylon proposes they go for one last bank job. Virgil protests that it may not be a good idea at his age, but Taylon persists.

The next day they prepare to set out. Despite the fact that Taylon packs a lot of money, Virgil gives him a few coins. Shortly after leaving his ranch, Taylon returns to burn down the tree. Later Taylon falls asleep and wakes up separated from Virgil. He comes upon a river crossing where a strange man (Danny Trejo) tells him Virgil crossed and insists he pay a toll to cross as well, or suffer the consequences. Taylon relents, giving him the coins Virgil gave him. Suddenly Taylon awakes to Virgil calling his name; he fell asleep on his horse and dreamed the interaction.

When Taylon arrives in town he takes his horse to a barn where a man named Jaden tells him the normal proprietor, Sam, died. Taylon also asks for a woman named Heidi, and Jaden sends him into a saloon looking for her. Taylon gets drunk; the bartender tells him Jaden set Heidi to work as a whore. Taylon passes out in the saloon and wakes up in a room with Virgil, who asks why they are not pursuing the bank job; Taylon tells him he has to give something to Heidi. Virgil asks why he hasn't told Heidi she's his daughter; Taylon says he hasn't found the words. Virgil agrees to scout the bank in advance for one day before he returns.

Downstairs in the restaurant, two miners approach the bar cussing and talking about the whores. The sheriff, Will (Tom Berenger), tells them to watch their language. One threatens him upon hearing he was a Texas Ranger. Will subdues him and tells the other man never to speak of his "past life" again. The doctor tells Will he visited Taylon, and Will is intrigued to hear he asked for his friend Virgil.

Taylon wakes to find Heidi in the bath in his room but refuses her offers of sex. She begins caring for him and giving him his cough medicine. Meanwhile, the doctor and a priest go to Taylon's ranch, which is burned to the ground. Taylon speaks with Virgil again upon his return, who continues to press Taylon to prepare for the bank job. Once again Virgil agrees to go on without Taylon. Heidi and Taylon begin talking and she reveals Sam was shot, not just that he died. Taylon becomes extremely agitated and has a flashback to a previous job that went wrong. Heidi gives him his medicine and he recovers.

The doctor tells Will that Taylon's ranch was burned to the ground and Will rides off to see. At the hotel, Jaden kicks Taylon out for taking up Heidi's time. Taylon tries to fight but is easily beaten and Jaden's men leave him for dead in the desert. Heidi assaults Jaden, steals a horse and sets fire to his barn. She rides out to Taylon and returns his horse but leaves him as he is.

Will rides into Durango and asks the whores if they've seen Taylon. They reveal that Heidi ran off and Jaden is chasing her. The party searching for her find Taylon and Virgil talking; Taylon lies and sends them in the wrong direction. Taylon follows her and warns her not to go to the train, as men are looking for her. Will arrives and Jaden asks Will to capture her. Will warns Jaden that Taylon is not to be trifled with and refuses to help; Taylon is actually a notorious Texas outlaw named Wesley Flynn. As they speak, Taylon begins robbing the bank, which he attempted twenty years ago. He gives the money to Heidi and tells her to run for the train as he makes his final stand.

As he prepares for the gunfight, Taylon apologizes to Virgil, whom he knows died in the robbery twenty years ago. Will tries to reason with Taylon, whom Taylon recognizes as his and Virgil's old accomplice, Jake. Taylon accuses Jaden of attempting to kill Heidi and of killing Sam and Jaden begins firing. Taylon is injured but kills everyone but Jake. They speak, and Jake reveals he accidentally shot Virgil when he ran out of hiding during the old robbery. He also reveals he will not pursue Heidi. Will walks away, telling Jake he should have cared for Heidi. A child asks "sheriff Will" if he'll go after Taylon to take him before the judge; Jake says he's going to see the judge already. On the train, Heidi reads Taylon's letter revealing he is her father and Jake watches Will fall from his horse, dead.
