Goral
Dr Fakhar-i- Abbas, of District Jhang did a PhD in Zoology from the University of Punjab[1] where he studied grey goral of Pakistan. Joined Centre for Bio-resource Research CBR focused researching biological sciences in 12 different dimensions[2]He is author of two books[3] Since 1994, involved in conservation and management of wild bears species[4]. As the major threat to all three wild bears [5] subspecies was poaching for entertainment and fights[6]in the villages, bearbaiting[7][8]. Where there used to be over a thousand bearbaiting events [9] per anum in the whole country[10] He has conveyed an Islamic narrative for conservation and cruelty to animals[11][12]
today these numbers have come down to single digits and even these are secretly and privately organized events[13] He started Kund bear sanctuary in 1997 and National Wildlife rehabilitation centre at Balkasar in 2008. At Balkasar[14][15][16]
