Goran Gatarić
Goran Gatarić (Subotinje, 14 October 1961) is a Serbian painter and artist.
Biography
Born on 14 October 1961, in Subotinje, municipality of Kakanj (Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1979, in the class of Tomislav Perazić. He lived and worked in Zenica and Sarajevo. In the early 1990s, he moved to Milan, spending a few years in Italy. During that time, he met Maria Campitelli, an art critic, who advised him to stay in Italy and build his career. However, the sudden change in the situation caused by the Bosnian Civil War, made him leave Italy and return to his home country. During the war, he created artwork, which was bought by SFOR military staff, among others. After the war, he moved to Bratunac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and organised his own individual art exhibitions.
He currently lives in a small rural area in Mačva, Serbia.

Today, his artwork adorns the homes of famous Serbian people such as Nikola Kojo, Dragan Bjelogrlić, Mira Bulatović, Nikola Koljević, Isidora Bjelica, Željko Samardžić… Some of his pieces are located in The Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, Serbia.
