Gorilla Mobile is a telecommunications company headquartered in Singapore. Gorilla Mobile was founded in 2019 and received Singapore MVNO license from Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority in 2021.

History[edit]

2019–2020: Pre-COVID-19[edit]

Gorilla Mobile was founded in 2019 with the initial seed capital of US$3 million. Gorilla Mobile main products were global roaming travel SIM products with coverage of 60 countries initially, supported by blockchain technology.[2]

2020–Present[edit]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, demands for global roaming decreased drastically. By April 2020, air passenger movements at Changi Airport have plunged by almost 100 per cent.[3]

Gorilla Mobile pivoted to provide local mobile services in Singapore, focused on Professional, Managerial, Executive & Technical occupations individuals(PMET) and SME market.[4]
In March 2021, Gorilla Mobile was awarded MVNO license from Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority.
In June 2021, Gorilla Mobile publicly launched as a Singapore MVNO, leasing its mobile network from M1. Gorilla Mobile introduced 2 mobile plans for consumers.
In October 2021, Gorilla Mobile launched a digital cloud aggregator solution, offering discounts on major cloud computing platforms.

Mobile Services in Singapore[edit]

As of 2021, Gorilla Mobile offers 2 consumer mobile plans that deliver voice, messaging, and mobile data services on M1 mobile network infrastructure.
In December 2021, Gorilla Mobile upgraded their consumer mobile plans from 20GB to 50GB and 30GB to 80GB.[5]

Gorilla Mobile consumer mobile plans introduce a service-on-demand model and a blockchain-powered SwitchBack feature in which unused mobile data are converted into digital tokens, known as Gorilla GO tokens.[4]

Global Travel Prepaid SIMs[edit]

Gorilla Mobile offers global travel prepaid data SIM worldwide, with coverage of up to 160 countries.[6]

Digital Cloud Aggregator Solution[edit]

Gorilla Mobile offers digital cloud aggregator solutions for corporates, offering up to 5% discount on major cloud computing platforms.
