Gospel Technology (Gospel) is a British blockchain software technology company, headquartered in London.

Gospel uses its own private, permissioned blockchain, data-ingestion engine and data protectionalgorithm that are its own IP, ), which it delivers as enterprise software to establish secure data sharing both within and outside an enterprise, solving the vast problem of data breaches that are much publicised and have plagued enterprise businesses and governments alike very publicly for the last two decades.

Gospel Technology was established in 2016 by Founder and CEO Ian Smith, a successful serial entrepreneur who formerly founded Butterfly Software, acquired by IBM in 2012.[1]

Gospel Technology was named as the ‘first practical application of enterprise blockchain’ by IDC.[2]

Forbes also featured Gospel in 2018 as one of the only companies accruing real revenues from enterprise-focused blockchain.[3]

CIO Review named Gospel in their Top 20 Most Promising Companies in Blockchain in 2017.[4]

Gospel also won the Tech Trailblazers award for the most innovative blockchain company in 2017.[5]

2016[edit]

Gospel Technology was founded in December 2016 by Ian Smith, with funding provided by Angel Investors and continues to have those investors on board as advisors to the company. Notably, they include Vivek Kundra - the first CIO of the United States, Michael Pennington who co-founded Gumtree, Investing expert Lex van Dam and Keith Robinson, an Executive at computer software giant Sage Group.

2017[edit]

Gospel launched the first version of its enterprise blockchain platform in May 2017.[6]

Gospel launched the second version of its enterprise blockchain platform in October 2017.[7]

2018[edit]

Gospel secured Seed funding of £1.4M in June 2018, led by LocalGlobe a company founded by Saul and Robin Klein.[8]

Gospel also launched the third version of its enterprise blockchain platform in June 2018.[9]
