Graand Production is an Indian film production and distribution company based in Kochi, Kerala. Housed in the Malayalam film industry, Graand Production is founded by Indian film actor Dileep and his brother Anoop.[1][2] In collaboration with other sister concerns like NAD group, over the years the company has produced more than 12 movies independently, enabling it to gain a strong foothold in the world of entertainment in the region.[3]
History
Founded in 2003 by actor Dileep and his brother Anoop, Graand Productions is one of the most successful production companies in Kerala. Its inception was with C.I.D. Moosa.[4] It was considered one of the best slapstick comedy films in Malayalam and took the box office by storm, becoming the second highest-grossing Malayalam film of that year.[5]
The movie that followed, Kadhavaseshan, struck an emotional chord with every Indian household, along with Dileep's spectacular performance. The movie received three Kerala State Film Awards, including Second Best Film. Pandippada in 2005, was another major hit, running for more than 100 days in theatres.
Twenty:20, the multi-star cast film, was made as a fundraiser for the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The project was scripted by Uday Krishna and Sibi K Thomas, with Dileep serving as the primary investor and acquiring the film rights as well. Twenty:20 released in 115 theatres and grossed more than ₹1 crore (US$130,000) in the opening, the highest at that time.[6] The first week distributors share of the film stood at ₹30.3 million (US$380,000) and grossed ₹7.54 crore, making it the first highest-grossing Malayalam film in the opening week.[7]
Another box office success for Graand Production was Vineeth Sreenivasan's directorial debut Malarvaadi Arts Club, introducing Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Bhagath Manuel, Harikrishnan and Geevarghese Eappen to the industry.
Starting his career with film editing, production and distribution, Anoop entered the directorial realm with Thattassery Koottam[8], starring Arjun Ashokan, Ganapathi S, Vijayaraghavan, Siddique and many more.
Raffi’s comedy entertainer ‘Voice of Sathyanathan' is perfectly crafted to hook audiences of all ages. This was Dileep's first post-pandemic big-screen comeback along with Joju George and is now making its way to OTT.[9][10]
