Graham Leader
Graham Leader (born November 18, 1949) is a British independent film producer and the founder of SeaLion Films LLC. He is most known for In The Bedroom[1] (2001), which was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2002, as well as Heartworn Highways[2] (1976), a music documentary that has garnered a cult following.
Leader was born in the United Kingdom and began his career as an art dealer. In 1973, he met James Szalapski who told him about a group of outlaw country musicians in Texas and Tennessee. Szalapski asked Leader to produce a documentary about these musicians, which would be his first feature. The film was titled Heartworn Highways and was directed by Szalapski.
Films produced by Leader include Heartworn Highways (1976), In The Bedroom (2001), Childless[3] (2008), Heartworn Highways Revisited (2014), and Shuttlecock (Director’s Cut[4]) (2020).
He is currently based in New York and is producing a documentary about the work of Zimbabwean Psychiatrist Dr. Dixon Chibanda. The documentary, titled Kufungisisa, is in post-production.
