Grand Hotel and Casino, Port Vila
The Grand Hotel And Casino is a hotel and casino in Port Vila, Vanuatu. It is a seven-storey hotel, with 74 rooms. The hotel was launched by Pacific Star Resorts, who in May 2002 announced A$ 35 million (US$19 million) project to developed a cyber hotel in Vanuatu, with sports facilities for sports betting and lotteries, but later found that they were short of the A$ 6 million (US$3.3 million) minimum subscription fee.[1]
Eventually the financing was found to build the resort and open it.
The Grand Hotel is served by the Crystals Restaurant, overlooking the harbour and Iririki Island, serving cuisine typical of the Pacific Rim countries. On the top floor is the cocktail bar, The Hemisphere Lounge & Bar, and by the pool is the Lobby Lounge Cafe and Pool Cafe, which serves wine, coffee, tea and cakes and pastries.[2]
