GreenFiber

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

GreenFiber is a company located in Buzău that collects and recycles plastic. In 2001, the company was established by a Taiwanese businessman who has been investing in Romania since 1998. GreenFiber is the first PET flake processor in Romania and transforms this product into polyester fiber, a material used in the manufacture of textile materials, clothing, carpets, car mats, geotextile materials for road infrastructure and constructions.[1]

In 2009, the company recycled 30,000 tons of PET waste.

The company can produce about 50,000 tons of fiber per year. Given that the annual consumption of fiber in the European Union is estimated at 700,000 tons, of which only half the quantity is manufactured on the continent, the rest being imports from Asia, GreenFiber is the second largest producer of polyester fiber in Europe.[2]
