Green Life Medical College (GMC) is a private medical school in Bangladesh, established in 2009. It is located in Dhaka. It is affiliated with the University of Dhaka as a constituent college.
The college awards the MBBS degree after a course of five years duration. One year post-graduation internship is mandatory for all graduates. The degree is recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.
History
In 2005, 50 doctors of the country established a hospital together, named Green Life Hospital. Later, Green Life Medical College was established in 2009.
Academics
This college was established in 2009. The college started operations in 2010 by admitting 51 students in the first batch. The college has grown rapidly since its inception. Currently, 110 students are admitted every year. Among these, several seats are reserved for foreign students. At present, 76 foreign students are studying, among them 50 are male and 26 are female.
Infrastructure
The Medical College and Hospital complex has been established in two multi-storied, fully air-conditioned buildings with around 500 beds for patients. The building has state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities and adequate facilities for patients.
It has its own fifteen-storey academic building, operating in this building since January 2018, before which all academic activities were conducted in the hospital building. For further expansion, the medical college has 200,000 acres of land in Purbachal New Town.
