Green October Event is an annual fashion show and award event created by La Mode Magazine and La Mode Disability Foundation to appreciate and support people living with disabilities. The event awards individuals who have contributed significantly to humanity and deserving entrepreneurs in fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

The first edition of Green October Event was held on 1 October 2015 at Peninsula Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. The award is organized by La Mode Magazine and La Mode Disability Foundation.[1][2] It has held every 1 October of every year since it was created.[3][4]

The award is an annual event that appreciate and support people living with disabilities. The event awards individuals who have contributed significantly to humanity and deserving entrepreneurs in fashion, beauty and lifestyle.[5]
2015[edit]
The Green October Event 2015 took place on 1 October 2015 at Peninsula Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. It was focused on children living with down syndrome in Nigeria. The hosts were Tarmar Awobotu and Emmanuel Ikubese. Fashion designers that showcased their designs were O'Saunders, Agatha Moreno, Cal Ogbah Clothing, Sassy Fashion House, Fabulousadivastiche, Neri Couture, S2 Dynamics, Adunni-Oge Couture and VickyHeldan.[6]

The Green October Event 2016 took place on 1 October 2016 at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. It was focused on children living with autism in Nigeria. The hosts were Layole Oyatogun and Zoe Chinaka, while Tomi Odunsi, Swazzi, SoulPrinz, Ozzybosco and Ejen performed at the event. Fashion designers that showcased their designs were Agatha Moreno, VickyHeldan, Seraphine By Kosi, Omoge Collections, TUBO, Bella House Of Fab, Runo Stitches, Onome Dupri Clothing, Lola Baej, PenonPaul Bespoke, Mobiz World, GMYT Couture, Renew By Rukky, E22, Boriah, JPKOUTURE and MERCY'S.[7][8][9]
2017[edit]
The Green October Event 2017 took place on 1 October 2017 at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. It was focused on children living with cerebral palsy in Nigeria. Belinda Effah and Caesar Ume-Ezeoke hosted the fashion show, while Efex and Nancy Isime hosted the gala night. Marvis and Soma of Big Brother Naija season 2 performed at the event. Fashion designers that showcased their designs were House of Kosagh, Agatha Moreno, Sammielle Couture, Bella House of Fab, Hope Fashion, Gmyt Fashion Academy, JPKOUTURE, Visible Proof, Facinator by Omoge, Makioba, House of Beth, Dunskani Design and Novjok Couture. The exhibitors were Fashionjunkie Collection, Kelu, On-Ru Couture, Ma Bello Clothier, Mojisola Alankara, Bunaj, Be Fab by Beadakraft, Zandikam Visage, Yetrose Lane and Accost Collection.[10][11]

The Green October Event 2018 took place on 1 October 2018 at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. It was focused on creating awareness for people living with disabilities and bringing to limelight individuals who have been able to go beyond their disabilities to leave a mark in history. Ebube Nwagbo and Caesar Ume-Ezeoke hosted the fourth edition of the event.[12][13][14]
