Greenie Films[1] is a Los Angeles based collaboration between Writer/Director Michelle Boyaner[2] and Cinematographer/Editor Barbara Green,[3] founded in 2000.

Michelle Boyaner is an Emmy Award[4] nominated Filmmaker whose films have included the award-winning Documentary features, Packed In A Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson[5] and A Finished Life: The Goodbye & No Regrets Tour;[6] Documentary short films Hi You've Reached Dave's Apartment,[7] and Tina Paulina: Living on Hope Street[8] and the narrative shorts, You're Still Young[9] and The Bedwetter.[10] Prior to her film work, Michelle wrote a blog, Live at Lakeridge and a book of personal essays chronicling her beloved Grandmother's battle with Alzheimer's, Oh, For God's Sake Whisper It. Michelle is currently at work on the Documentary feature, It's Not A Burden: The Humor and Heartache of Raising Elderly Parents[11] as well as a scripted web series about growing up in 1970s in a Southern California suburb.

Award-winning Filmmaker/Cinematographer/Editor Barbara Green, has completed three documentary short films: O'Day At The Races, a documentary on the life of jazz legend Anita O'Day[12] Hi, You've Reached Dave's Apartment, a glimpse into the day-to-day life of her 41-year-old schizophrenic brother, which premiered at The SXSW Film Festival in 2001; and Tina Paulina: Living on Hope Street, an inspirational look at a homeless lesbian living on the streets of downtown Los Angeles. Barbara’s recent work includes the Emmy® nominated HBO[13] Documentary Packed In A Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson and A Finished Life: The Goodbye & No Regrets Tour. Green is currently in production on It’s Not A Burden: The Humor and Heartache of Raising Elderly Parents.

Awards and recognition[edit]

Packed In A Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson[14] a feature-length documentary, had its world premiere at the 2015 Palm Springs International Film Festival, and premiered on HBO on July 20, 2015. The film was nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy® Award[15] in 2016. Barbara Green, the cinematographer and editor of the film, was noted to have “...an innate sense of rhythm as well as a flair for composition,” by The Hollywood Reporter.[16]
