Greenkraft Inc. is an American manufacturer and distributor of alternative-fuel commercial vehicles, including cab-forward trucks and vans, as well as fuel system conversion kits. Based in Santa Ana, California, Greenkraft offers vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied propane gas (LPG), gasoline, and electric drivetrains.[2] Originally incorporated as Sunrise Global, Inc., the company adopted the Greenkraft name following a 2013 acquisition and corporate reorganization.[1]
History
Greenkraft began operations when Sunrise Global, Inc. was incorporated on September 27, 2006, in Nevada, initially focusing on recycled industrial waste resale.[1] On October 31, 2008, the company formed a California subsidiary under the name Greenkraft Inc., later merging its operations into Sunrise Global and formally changing the corporate name to Greenkraft Inc. on December 27, 2013.[1]
In early 2017, Greenkraft expanded its manufacturing capability and product lineup, launching a national marketing campaign to introduce its alternative-fuel trucks across major U.S. markets.[3]
Products and services
Greenkraft's vehicle portfolio includes cab-forward trucks in Classes 3 through 7 (GVWR 10,001–33,000 lb), available with factory-installed CNG, LPG, gasoline, or electric powertrains. The company also offers aftermarket conversion systems to retrofit existing petroleum-based engines to run on CNG or LPG. Commercial applications span food services, construction, landscaping, pest control, plumbing, and municipal fleets.[2]
Certifications and compliance
On October 18, 2017, Greenkraft's proprietary 8-liter V8 spark-ignited engine received certification from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) under its On-Road New Vehicle and Engine Certification Program. The engine achieved near-zero NOx emissions (<0.02 g/bhp-hr) on CNG, LPG, and gasoline, marking the first three-fuel certification at this standard.[4]
Operations
Headquartered in Santa Ana, California, Greenkraft operates a network of dealers across North America. Its facilities include R&D and assembly for both complete vehicles and engine conversion systems. The company partners with firms such as CEE, LLC, and G&K Automotive Conversion Inc. for testing and certification support.[5]
