Collier founded Geebo in 2000 in Sacramento, California, as an online alternative to traditional newspaper classified advertisements.[1] The company later relocated to McLean, Virginia.[1]

Beginning in 2009, Collier publicly commented on safety concerns related to Craigslist’s "erotic services" section amid broader scrutiny of online classified advertising platforms.[2]
