Greg Flynn (businessman)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Greg Flynn is an American businessman. He is the founder of Flynn Restaurant Group, one of the world’s largest restaurant franchisees.[1] Flynn is worth at least $1.1 billion.[2] His group owns over 2,600 restaurants in the United States.[3]

He earned his MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1994.[4]

He founded Flynn Properties in 1994.[5]

In 1999, he founded Flynn Restaurant Group and purchased his first Applebees.[6]

In 2024, it was alleged that Flynn’s personal relationship with California Governor Gavin Newsom gave him influence on a new state law that would raise the state minimum wage at fast-food restaurants to $20 per hour. The law has an exception for chains that bake and sell bread as a standalone product. Flynn’s company controls over two dozen Panera Bread locations in California.[2] Flynn said "such a narrow exemption has very little practical value [...] we will almost certainly have to offer market value wages in order to attract and retain employees".[7]
