Greg Kubiak
Greg D. Kubiak is author of "The Gilded Dome: The U.S. Senate and Campaign Finance Reform" published by the University of Oklahoma Press in 1994. In 2020, he retired as Chief Public Affairs Officer for SURA, a non-profit consortium of research universities in Washington, DC. For 16 years, he was responsible for managing the public relations and policy activities to promote SURA's visibility and goals with the media, government agencies, partner organizations and members.
Before joining SURA in 2004, Greg was Senior Policy Manager with the Southern Governors’ Association for six years. Prior to joining SGA, he worked for other non-profit and policy organizations as well as the legislative staff for Oklahoma’s last Democratic U.S. Senator from 1983 to 1990. His book, "The Gilded Dome" is regarded as key legislative history which led to the Supreme Court's Citizens United case which has fostered unlimited funding of modern campaign finance in U.S. federal elections.
A native of Spencer, Oklahoma, Greg earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma in 1983. He helped establish the OU LGBTQ+ Alumni Society as a founding director, serving on the board from 2013 to 2018. Active in a number of other volunteer and charitable organizations, he also served 11 years on the Board of Directors of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC. He splits his time between Washington, DC and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
