Greg Lane (podcaster)
Greg Lane (born April 17, 2003) is an American Musician and Podcaster. He is best known for his work on The Greg and Duc Show with Duc Tong, and his work as a local Musician with Ronan and Calidore Robinson. He is also locally known as a sports media influencer, who has covered the Patriots, and other Boston Sports.
Early Life
Gregory Daniel Lane was born on April 17, 2003, in Boston, MA. He was born 3 months earlier than his expected due date. He was raised for the first 2 years of his life in Quincy, Massachusetts. He then moved to Milton, Massachusetts, in 2005, after the birth of his sister.
Education
Lane attended Preschool from 2006-2008 at the Tucker Elementary School, and the Collicot Elementary School. Lane attended the Cunningham Elementary School from 2008-2014, from Kindergarten to 5th Grade.
Lane then attended the Pierce Middle School from 2014-2017. He attended Grades 6-8 there. During his time at Pierce, he participated in the Pierce Players Drama Club, where he was a member of the Crew, which is the backstage production team. In 7th Grade, he was named the Assistant Stage Manager, and in 8th Grade he was named the Stage Manager, before moving on from the club in January 2017. At that point, he took up other interests such as Podcasting, and Sports management.
Lane graduated Milton High School in Milton, MA in 2021. He began his time there as a Freshman in 2017. During his Freshman year, he took several Musical classes for Drums and Rock and Jazz. During his Sophomore year in 2018, he took a TV Production class where he would regularly do a weekly NFL Football analysis show with his friend, Duc Tong. In his Junior year in 2019, he took several Music classes for Guitar, and Piano. He would also attend many of the Milton Wildcats Hockey Games. He was not officially associated with the team, however many players knew him. During those games, he would provide game updates and team interviews on his Snapchat story. He became well known for this. On March 13, 2020, it was announced that school would be closing due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It was later announced by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker that School would be closed for the remainder of the school year, and students would do Remote Learning. Lane was the manager of the Boys Hockey Team his senior year.
Lane committed to Merrimack College for academic study in April 2021. He began his freshman year in August 2021. He studies Communication and Media, with a PR minor and a Music Minor. He is a senior at the school right now, expected to graduate in May 2025. Lane is involved with the Merrimack College Women’s Hockey Team, serving as a Volunteer Operations Assistant with the program. He previously worked on the Merrimack College Ice Crew at Lawler Arena working the Men’s and Women’s Varsity Home games. He has a strong interest in the Hockey teams at the school, being a notable presence during the Men’s Hockey Team’s Hockey East tournament run in 2023. Lane frequently attends the Pickup Hockey nights at the school during the winter months. While he has no playing experience, he has found success offensively, tallying several goals last season.
Personal Life
Lane resides in Milton, Massachusetts. He has a brother and a sister. He enjoys cars, TV, and other simple things. Lane is widely known by friends for his extensive Hat collection. He is known for collecting Boston Sports hats, especially those of the New England Patriots Football Team. He has said in the past that collecting hats is something he truly enjoys. He says that he cannot stop getting them because there's always more to buy.
Lane is also a very talented Musician, who has been playing Guitar since 4th grade. He attended the Boston School of Music Arts in Dorchester, MA for lessons until he enrolled at Merrimack College in 2021.
Musical Life
Lane has been interested in Music his whole life. It has been said by his parents that he has been interested in music ever since he was an infant. He took Piano lessons in 1st grade, but eventually stopped after little progress was made. He began playing Guitar in 2012, and began taking lessons shortly thereafter. He first took lessons at Guitar Center, and after that, he began taking lessons through the Milton Public Schools. He did that from 2012-2014. In 2015, he began lessons at the Boston School of Music Arts.
Lane attended the Berklee College of Music Guitar Sessions in 2018 and 2019. At that camp, he met and collaborated with many talented Guitar Players from around the world.
Lane is known for his work with Ronan Robinson, and actor Calidore Robinson in a band. All three of them attend the Boston School of Music Arts. They have been performing together for many years, and have been friends for many years. Lane has also collaborated with Duc Tong for musical recordings. Tong is a student, and is originally from Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
Lane mainly uses two electric guitars, an Epiphone ES 335, and a Fender Telecaster Player Series. He has a Martin Travel Series acoustic guitar.
Lane has also been known to play other instruments in the past, like Piano, Ukulele, Bass Guitar, and sometimes Drums.
Podcasts
The Greg, Ronan and Cal Show (2017-2018)
In 2017, Greg Lane and his friends and band mates Ronan and Calidore Robinson started exploring the idea of doing a Podcast, due to their interest in Howard Stern, and his show The Howard Stern Show. In April 2017, they began posting episodes of their show to Spreaker, a digital platform to record and distribute Podcasts.[1] The format of the show in the beginning was to do prank phone calls. This quickly fell flat, due to the lack of interest, and the lack of prank calling ability between the trio. In May 2017, they hired Duc Tong, who was a student at the school, who had recently moved from Vietnam, to be their Public Relations director, where he would distribute the show to people and try to get listeners. This quickly transitioned to him becoming a regular personality on the show, due to his eccentric personality, and his popularity. From that point, Lane and the Robinsons found a steady increase in listeners.
Lane and Tong created their own series called The Greg and Duc Show, after Ronan and Calidore left for their annual trip to Canada in the summer. This show saw some success, and had guests like Duc's brother on. By the end of the summer, they were not doing many episodes anymore.
The Greg, Ronan and Cal Show returned for Season 2 in 2018, by popular demand. They once again saw success with the program, however the return was short lived. They stopped making new episodes after a lack of availability from Ronan and Cal.
The Greg and Duc Show (2018-2021)
After Ronan and Calidore Robinson left the show in 2018, Lane and Tong decided to make their summer series, The Greg and Duc Show a full time show.[2] They have had many guests on that show as well. The Greg and Duc Show began regular broadcasting in their second season, in 2019. Their guests include various people from around Milton, or students that go to Milton High School. The format of the show includes interviews, and phone calls from listeners. The show came back for a third season on March 8th, 2020. However the return was short lived, as schools were shut down due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The show returned sporadically following the pandemic, however Lane and Tong parted ways in 2024.

Beantown Angler
Lane made his first featured appearance on on Ronan Robinson's channel, the Beantown Angler on December 22, 2019, where he appeared on the video called "The Christmas Special". He and other people tried to answer trivia questions about Robinson's channel.[3]
Calidore Robinson
Lane has made several appearances on Calidore Robinson's YouTube channel. He made his first appearance in 2019, where he was featured performing at a showcase with Ronan and Cal Robinson. [4] He has been known to appear at the end of Robinson's videos in the outtakes, interrupting, and yelling "Baba Booey!", a phrase from Howard Stern.
Merrimack College Women’s Ice Hockey
Lane was named a Volunteer Hockey Operations Assistant for Merrimack College Women’s Hockey in August 2024. He films team practices and shift logs most games. The team is in the Hockey East Conference in NCAA Division I. Lane aspires to work in sports in some capacity someday. The team plays its home games at Lawler Arena in North Andover, MA.
Lids
Lane began working at Lids Locker Room in Braintree, MA in July 2020 as a Part-Time Sales Associate. He continued the job through his senior year of High School and into College. He was promoted to Part-Time Assistant Store Manager in 2022. He holds that position today.
Lane completed an internship at the Lids Headquarters in Indianapolis, IN in the summer of 2024. He served as an Operations Intern. He completed several projects, including an individual project revamping store policies and procedures, and a group project where him and a group generated ideas to drive up store traffic. Lane completed the internship in August 2024 and returned to his retail store in Braintree, MA.
