Greg Strasz (born February 1, 1977) is a Polish/German visual effects supervisor, film director and producer. Greg's ambitious sci-fi proof of concept film Megan (2018) was a viral internet sensation[1]. The short was further recognized by several prestigious media publications (the Hollywood Reporter[2], Empire[3] and Entertainment Weekly[4]) and has been widely critically acclaimed, being nominated and winning multiple awards: Winner 2018 Pitch to Screen Film Awards (best director and best proof of concept) and winner London international short film festival 2018 (best international Sci-Fi short). The film has played at several renowned film festivals such as an official selection at the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival 2019. Most recently, Megan was praised by industry professionals, whom honored the short with a Silver Telly Award (40th Annual Telly Awards - 2019 online: General-Viral). Previously, Greg served as Visual Effects Supervisor & VFX Art Director for director Roland Emmerich. Credits include Independence Day: Resurgence, White House Down and 2012. He is represented by Roar Management.
In 2006 for "The Triangle" Greg Strasz received an Honor certificate from the Academy of the Television Art and Sciences for his contribution to the "Emmy Award winning achievement for outstanding special visual effects for a miniseries". In 2012 the Visual Effects Society nominated Greg Strasz for the work on "Anonymous" with the "Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture[5]." Strasz made his first attempt at directing in Los Angeles when he filmed "Broken". From over 500 submissions his short film was one of the 10 semi-finalist in the Producer Guild of America "2014 Make Your Mark Competition[6]" challenge.
