Ir Dr Greg Wong Chak-yan (黃澤恩), B.B.S., J.P. is a veteran Registered Structural Engineer and Registered Geotechnical Engineer with a PhD in Civil Engineering from the McGill University, Canada[1], and is familiar with the design and construction procedures of slopes and buildings.[2]

Dr Wong was a Past President[3] of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) and a past Vice Chairman[4] of the Town Planning Board. He has also served in the past as Vice Chairman of the Task Force on Land Supply[5], Board Member of Ocean Park Corporation, Member of Antiquities Advisory Board, part-time member of the Central Policy Unit, Member of Appeal Board on Public Meetings and Processions, Member of Buildings Department Authorized Persons, Registered Structural Engineers and Registered Geotechnical Engineers' Disciplinary Board Panel, Member of HKIE Disciplinary Panel.[2]

He started his career as an engineer in Canada and later, in 1978, he returned to Hong Kong and joined MTR, and later on he led its Geotechnical Department.[1] Apart from civil engineering projects, Dr Wong also devotes himself to antiquity-related development projects, such as The Haw Par Mansion, Lui Seng Chun, and the St. Paul’s Co-educational College redevelopment project.[1] He is currently the Chairman[6] of Greg Wong & Associates Ltd.

Dr Wong graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Civil Engineering from The University of Hong Kong in 1966[2].
