Gregg B. Brelsford is an American attorney and politician who is an independent candidate for the 2022 Alaska's at-large congressional district special election.
Education
Brelsford earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He completed half of the coursework towards a Doctor of Public Administration at the University of Southern California before earning a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.[1]
Career
From 1976 to 1980, Brelsford worked as the health director of the Chugach Tribal Governing Body. From 1980 to 1985, he was the CEO of the Unangan Tribal Governing Body and Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association.[2] Brelsford has also operated an independent legal practice and was an adjunct professor of law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law. In 2011 and 2012, he was an advisor to Microsoft Egypt. From 2012 to 2016, he was a legal advisor to the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative Egypt. From 2018 to 2020, he was the manager of Bristol Bay Borough, Alaska. In 2021, he was also the interim city manager of Dillingham, Alaska. In January 2022, Brelsford changed his party registration from Republican to independent.[3][4] He is a candidate for the 2022 Alaska's at-large congressional district special election.[5][6]
