Gregory Renard (born August 12, 1975) is an American-Belgo-French Social entrepreneur and a Pioneer in Personal Assistant, Machine Learning and more generally in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

He started working in the field of Artificial Intelligence focus on the language in 1996 for his work in Call Center Industry in Roubaix where he created a first semantic and dialog search engine.  In 2006, he co-founded the Artificial Intelligence Lab ‘xBrainLab’ to focus on conversational AI and Personal Assistant.  He was the Artificial Intelligence architect of the French Personal Assistant ‘Angie’, the first French Personal Assistant.  After the launch of Angie in partnership with Microsoft in France in 2012, he moved in Silicon Valley to pursue his work and passion on machine learning and deep learning applied to natural language with xBrain Inc as a technical AI co-founder.

After early understanding the potential impact of Artificial Intelligence on Society in 2006, he started to evangelize the risks and opportunities of AI on the Society through numerous conferences and papers, he acted through education and focused on how to apply Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning for good, for all the people and not only for a few or companies.

From Stanford in California, he convinced the French President Team in October 2016 to initiate the first report about Artificial Intelligence which will give birth to the National Strategy for France and impact the European Commission Artificial Intelligence Strategy. He was the co-writer of the education part in the first report and he was one of the advisors for the current France Strategy “AI for Humanity”.  He was at the origin of the IronCar.org (Remote Self-Driving Car competition) and he was the co-founder of Roubaix.AI, a Social Lab in charge of deploying Artificial Intelligence for Citizens.

He was one the 15 VIP worldwide AI Experts guest at the Elysée Palace for the private discussions diner about Artificial Intelligence with the French President, Mr Emmanuel Macron on March 28th 2018.

He is an Artificial Intelligence Technical Advisor at NASA FDL (NASA.AI), Sigfox Foundation, in many Startups in France and Silicon Valley and he is regularly speaker for universities like Stanford, MIT, Berkeley or TEDx.

He is currently leading Vision, R&D and Technical Team at xBrain which has created an easy to use AI cloud-based platform supports natural language and knowledge discovery applied to Car Personal Assistant and Customer Journey.
