    GridGain Systems is a privately-held, venture funded software company in the in-memory computing platform market, headquartered in Foster City, California.

    The company was founded in 2010 by Nikita Ivanov, the author of the open source Apache Ignite distributed database management system, and Dmitriy Setrakyan in Pleasanton, California.[3]

    Ivanov conceived of the GridGain In-Memory Computing Platform in 2014 as an enterprise-grade platform built on Apache Ignite that provides in-memory speed and massive scalability for data-intensive applications and real-time data access across datastores and applications.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]

    GridGain customers span financial services, healthcare, retail, telecommunications, logistics, biotechnology, software, and other industries in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. They include American Airlines, AT&T, BNP Paribas, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, ING Group, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Motorola Solutions, and 24 Hour Fitness.[14][15]

    GridGain continues to play a role in the development of Apache Ignite. GridGain employees are members of the Apache Ignite Product Management Committee and serve as developers and committers.[16]

    GridGain built and supports the GridGain In-Memory Computing Platform as a self-managed on-premises software solution (GridGain In-Memory Computing Platform – Self Managed) or as a fully-managed software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud solution (GridGain Nebula). GridGain Control Center is a troubleshooting, management, and monitoring tool for Apache Ignite and the GridGain platform. GridGain for z/OS is based on a GridGain partnership with IBM and allows enterprises to include data from core mainframe systems and hybrid cloud environments in the GridGain In-Memory Computing Platform.

    The company provides product support and in-memory computing expertise and consulting services to some of the largest companies in the world.
