Grimsby Town F.C. Academy is the football academy of Grimsby Town F.C. It consists of 'schoolboys' teams from Under 9's to Under 16's level, and a youth team, made up of Under 17's and Under 18's players. The academy is split across two sites, with the 'schoolboys' teams training and playing at Oasis Academy Wintringham, and the youth team training and playing at Cheapside Training Ground, also the location of the first team's training ground.
The Academy[edit]
The Grimsby Town F.C. Academy is a category three rated academy, and has produced several notable alumni over the years. PFA Merit Award winner John McDermott came up through the ranks at the academy, as well as current players Harry Clifton and Max Wright more recently.
The current Academy Manager is ex-Grimsby Town and Rangers striker, Neil Woods. The Under 16's team is managed by ex-Grimsby Town and Bristol Rovers midfielder, Craig Disley.[1]
