Six companies, ELSA, Mifroma, Mifroma France, Mifroma USA, Dörig and Bergsenn AG merged to form the Group ELSA-Mifroma. The Group offers Swiss dairy products to their Swiss and International costumers. The six companies employ a total of approximately 970 workers, including France and USA. The ELSA-Miforma Group forms an integral part of M-Industry[1], the industrial group of Migros[2]. Comprising 20 companies, it is one of the largest own-brand producers in the world. It employees 11,000 staff and offers 20,000 products in its range, generating an annual turnover of over 5 billion CHF.

ELSA[edit]

Based in Estavayer-le-Lac, is the largest single-site dairy in Switzerland. Established in 1955 under the driving force of Gottlieb Duttweiler. The company process around 270 million kg of milk annually and produces wealth of product lines, from yogurts to grocery products.

Mifroma SA[edit]

Established in Ursy, Switzerland. Since 1964, the company is specialized in the refinement and packaging of cheeses. Since 1964, Mifroma’s cheese have been aged in a sedimentary rock cave, carved by nature over millennia.

Mifroma France[edit]

Located in Chalamont, France. Since 1993, Mifroma France distributes the Group’s product on the French and European market. Today, it is the leading distributor of Swiss cheeses in France.

Mifroma USA[edit]

Established in 2010, the company is the distributor of the American Swiss matured cheeses on the American market.

Dörig[edit]

Based in Urnäsch, Switzerland, Dörig was acquired by Mifroma in 2008. Specialized in the refinement and commercialization of Appenzeller AOC cheese and many other specialties.

Bergsenn AG[edit]

Founded in 1977 by Peter Odermatt, the company is established in Savogin, Switzerland and distributes its Grisons mountain cheese specialties in the Swiss market. In 2013 the Bergsenn AG was acquired by Mifroma.

The ELSA-Mifroma group is a leader in the Swiss dairy market. The Group operates also at the international level and its products are exported in many countries.

Milk[edit]

Four types of milk: UHT and HP milk for consumption, flavoured milks, enriched milk (with calcium or vitamin) and speciality milk.

Cream[edit]

Every kind of cream.

Yogurt[edit]

Stirred yogurt, set yogurt (Natural yogurt, flavoured yogurt, low-fat yogurt), probiotic yogurt, lactose-free yogurt and drinking yogurt (Flavoured drinking yogurt, low-fat drinking yogurt).

Puddings, creams, sundaes, mousses, Tiramisu, Creme marron to name but a few.

Mifroma France is also ISO 9001[8] and IFS certified.

Dörig is BRC certified.[9]

The Group has planned objectives for 2040: 100% sustainable raw materials , 100% renewable energies and 100% recycling.

The Group is also acting with daily life actions, such as production site in Ursy be lit by LEDs, using only certified palm oil, the ELSA site is using natural gas and by 2020, the ELSA-Mifroma Group will use only certified coffee.
