Guidehouse is a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm and a portfolio company of Veritas Capital.[3][5]
History[edit]
In February 2018, Veritas Capital acquired PricewaterhouseCoopers' government consulting unit,[6] which at the time had approximately 1,500 employees.[7] Scott McIntyre, who was managing partner of the unit at PricewaterhouseCoopers, became CEO of the new organization. That July, the business was officially rebranded as Guidehouse.[8] Initially, the firm focused solely on government agencies,[3] with particular emphasis on logistics, strategy,[9] and risk management.[10]
In August 2019, Guidehouse announced it would be acquiring Chicago-based Navigant Consulting for US$1.1 billion.[3] The two companies stated that the goal of the acquisition was to expand Guidehouse into the private-sector space with Navigant's clients in energy, financial services, and other industries.[11] The acquisition completed two months later.[2]
In April 2020, Guidehouse CEO Scott McIntryre was inducted into the 2020 Wash100 Award by Executive Mosaic for the fourth consecutive time.[12]
Scope[edit]
The company has an annual revenue of $1.3 billion and has both public- and private-sector clients.[3][13] As of 2019, Guidehouse's clients included the U.S. Departments of State, Defense, and Health and Human Services;[14] the Food and Drug Administration,[15] and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.[16] The company claims it has never laid off an employee during a government shutdown, including during Guidehouse's time as part of PricewaterhouseCoopers.[9] In addition to its headquarters in Washington, D.C., the company maintains a presence in Chicago,[5] Dayton,[17] London,[18] Thiruvananthapuram,[19] McLean,[1] and other locations.[20][21] Guidehouse continues to retain Navigant Research as a separate division within its organization.[22]
