Guilded is a VoIP, instant messaging patform that is designed to help communities coming together, with the main focus being on gaming communities. Users can communicate with voice calls, video calls, text messaging and by uploading media files to private chats and on channels on "servers". Servers are a collection of persistent chat rooms and voice channels. Guilded can run on Web Browsers, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and on Linux.
History[edit]
Guilded was founded in March 17, 2017 by Eli Brown, Former Software Engineer at Facebook and Xbox. Guilded's goal was to help gaming teams and gaming communities recruit, improve and compete[2]. On May 30, 2020 Guilded Announced that they raised US$7 million in Series A funding led by Matrix Partners. Initialized Capital, Susa Ventures and Sterling.VC also participed in the Funding.[3]
Guilded came out of beta in March 19, 2020.[4] Eli Brown said “Today, gaming communities use a variety of tools to chat and to organize, but none of them are built for them." “We're building the world's best platform for connecting communities - and we're building it specifically for gamers.”[5]
