Guillermina Etkin
Guillermina Etkin (born 1980 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a composer, singer, pianist, performer, and sound designer.[1]
Education & Career[edit]
Etkin attended the National University of Quilmes in 2006 earning a diploma in music and technology then again in 2010 earning a degree in musical composition with electroacoustic media.[2] She is currently working at the university teaching piano and music.[1]
Nominations/Awards[edit]
Etkin's work in Knives in Hens by David Harrower earned her a nomination for the Trinidad Guervara Award in 2007 for "Score or Sound Band."[1]
Vigilante Margarita[edit]
Vigilante Margarita is a band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Etkin has been apart of the band Vigilante Margarita as a composer, vocalist, pianist and zitherist since 2007 along with her fellow members Cecilia Lopez (vocalist/electric guitarist) and Cecilia Grammatico (drummer). They have performed concerts in places such as National Music Centre, Museum of Modern Art, Rojas Cultural Center, IMPA Cultural City, Recoleta Cultural Center (Tsonami Festival), Experimental Intermedia in New York, Alianza Francesa de Buenos Aires, and the University of Quilmes. The group has performed songs such as Trastos Dracula, Voy, Ruso, and Paraguas.[3]
