Guinea Airlines was a Guiniean airline that existed from 2017 to 2019 and was the flag carrier of the country. The airline initially planned to operate one ERJ 145 and one ATR 72. The airline was a venture with the French company Regourd Aviation.[1]
History
The airline picked Ethiopian Airlines as its technical partner by early 2018.[2] Around a year later, the airline was expected to start operations in June of 2018, and the airline was expected to add two Dash 8 Q 400s and one Boeing 737.[3] It was reported in 2019 that the airline's launch would be dependent on government infrastructure.[4]
In 2019, the airline shut down, and it appears the airline did not actually start operations.[5] In 2021, the Prime Minister of Guinea admitted that the project had failed.[6]
