Gunay Aliyeva (Azerbaijani: Əliyeva Günay Vidadi qızı; born 1983 in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR) — is an Azerbaijani physician, ophthalmologist, oculista and surgeon, a doctor of medicine of Azerbaijan State Medical Institute.[1] Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sciences and doctor of Surgery.
Early life and career[edit]
Gunay Aliyeva was born on 19 August 1983 in Baku.[2] She finished high school in 2000.[2]
She entered the Azerbaijan Medical University. During 2006-2007 she attended the internship at the faculty of Ophthalmology of AMU. In 2008-2010 she was studying in a residency program at Caspian Compassion Project. After finishing the residency program in 2010 she was accepted to short duration cataract surgery fellowship program at L.V.Prasad eye institute in India.[2]
In 2010 she completed medical retina observership program in Kocaeli University in Turkey. After returning to Azerbaijan she started working in OFKO private eye clinic. In 2011 she was accepted into the “Retina Laser” short-duration fellowship at L.V.Prasad eye institute in India. In 2014 she was accepted into the “Refractive Laser” fellowship program at UMA eye hospital in INDIA. From 2014 till 2021 she was working in “Briz-l’’ eye clinic. From 2021 she is working in "BADAM" MEDICAL CENTER.[3]
Achievements and awards[edit]
- In 2014 Aliyeva became a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.[3]
- In 2017 she participated in "Retina diseas courses" at Tel-Aviv Soaurasky Medical Center in Israil.
- In 2017 she was awarded “the Best Paper“ in 5th Magrabi International Congress in Abu-Dhabi.
- In 2018 she participated in "UCLA Aestetic Eyelid and Facial Rejuvention Course" at UCLA in USA.[3]
- In 2018 she organize Refractive surgery course in Baku.
- In 2019 she participated in "Blepharoplasthy" training at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya eye institute in India.
- In 2019 she organize "Baku Retina" International conference in Baku. Dr Gunay author of numerous scientific articles which was published in international ophthalmological magazines.[4][5]
- From 2014 to 2019 she attended the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAOP) annual meetings.[3]
