Gurjar

Gurjar or Gujjar is an Indo-Aryan race/caste living in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq for centuries. In Pakistan, they are in a majority in numbers; in India, they have a significant population, around 18% of India's total population and 25 to 30% of Pakistan's population. They follow Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, and Christianity. In Hinduism, Gujjars are classified in Brahmin, Kshatriya, and Vaisya varna, some of the upper-class varnas of the Hindu religion, and in Islam, they fall under Sunni Muslims.

According to many historians, Gurjar, Gujjar, Gojjar, or Gujer is the oldest tribe/race of Asia; they gave names to many places and ruled over India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran for centuries from the 1st century until 1350, the 14th century.
