Gwamba
Gwamba, real name Duncan Zgambo is a UMP and Nyasa Award winning gospel rapper who rose to fame in 2010 after his single Girls. Prior to the single, Gwamba was a rapper in the Lilongwe City based HipHop group Pittie Boiz which disbanded in 2009 after their debut album Sons of the City.
Having created his name for his lyrical and rhyming style, Gwamba immediately established himself as one of the best rappers with song such as Ndiyima Pachulu ft Bucci, Sindingasiye Bawa ft Young Kay, Zimuvuta ft Martse and Kragy, Nabola Kusache Ft NesNes.
In 2016 on 1st January, Gwamba became born again and started singing gospel under Major 1 Records, a music label owned by his inlaw Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. He took the gospel circles by storm with his debut gospel song Better which won awards at UMP and Nyasa Music Awards. His second single Alleluah also topped charts and won award at UMP.
He later released his debut album Jesus is my Boss, launching it at BICC in Lilongwe and Robins Park in Blantyre. The album had songs like Ndavala Masamba, Mfumu ft Dan Lu, Dan ft Emmanuel, Heaven ft Prophetess Mary Bushiri and Nzeru ft Maskal.
After the album, he went to release more hit singles that topped charts including Mbama and Nthawi Zanji ft Fredokiss.
Among his achievement, Gwamba also headlined Lake of Stars Festival in 2015 and became UNFP's Ambassador along side Botswana's Zeus and The Dogg from Namibia.
