HD (born December 17, 1987), also known as HD of Bearfaced, is an American rapper and record producer from North Oakland, California. HD is a former member of Livewire Records. The rapper is affiliated with Bearfaced ENT. and Family Ties. HD is currently the CEO of his own independent label, Bearfaced Records.
Music career[edit]
HD first started rapping when he was six or seven.[1] He began rapping in his uncle Che-D-Ness's studio, where HD was given his first mic. HD was first featured on the Livewire Records collaborative album called "The Hop Out" with Lil' Rue, Ronald Mack, & Lil' Blood, dubbed "Murder Fa Hire". After leaving Livewire Records, HD began to gain his own notoriety and he began to expand his own brand, Bearfaced Entertainment. In 2012, HD was recognized as a member of Thizzler.com's Freshman Top 10.[2] Under Bearfaced, HD has released over a dozen mixtapes and studio albums.
HD is easily recognized on the mic for his flow and his favorite ad-libs, from "LayLay, Daddy Gotchu" to "Smack Smack". HD grew up listening to Tupac, saying, "I’m a big fan of Pac. He was a Black Panther at heart. That’s Oakland shit".[1] HD also grew up listening to the Dogg Pound, Pac, the rest of Death Row, Bone Thuggs, Dip-Set, Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Hell Rell, and Philladelphia rappers Memphis Bleek, Beanie Siegel, and State Property.
