HOBLOS (Hablas) - Zouk Al-Habalisa
The Hoblos Family (also "Al Hoblos" or "Al Hablas" in some cases Houblos, Hoblous, Hablas Arabic: ال حبلص, French: HOBLOS), is an important Levantine family of mixed origins & multiple cadet branches, which can be found in Syria, Lebanon, Greece, Egypt, France, Russia, Australia and Algeria.
It is a huge and well-rooted family in present day Egypt (Nile Delta), Syria (Qalamoun region) and especially Lebanon (Zouk Al-Habalisa & Al-Qalamoun village) where its roots closely combine with the history of the House of El Douaihy, Douaihy,Arabic: الدويهي,French: De Douai). The first clan originated from Deir Atiyah,Deir Atiyah or Dayr Atiyah (Arabic: ديرعطية), a city in Syria, located between the Qalamoun Mountains and the Eastern Lebanon Mountains Series.
Origins[edit]
Genealogy in the Middle East, especially of Christian families in Syria, Lebanon and the Holy Land, is very complicated and depends on oral traditions much more than written ones.
