The HP EliteBook 8460P is a laptop in the EliteBook series by HP and was first introduced in 2011. It was manufactured to meet military standards, being able to withstand high temperatures, humidity, shock, and vibration.[1]
Specifications
As is typical of the EliteBook series, the notebook utilizes a silver-colored magnesium alloy case and an aluminum lid. Notably, the laptop was claimed to offer a 32-hour battery life with an optional add-on battery.[2]
Unlike the 8460w model, the standard graphics option was an Intel HD 3000 series accelerator, but an AMD Radeon HD 6470M option was available with 1GB of video memory.
Common to 14-inch notebooks, the built-in keyboard offers no numeric keypad, relegating this feature to use of a function key. It is, however, spill-resistant.[3]
Other features included an in-built Optical Disc Drive, a mechanical or solid-state hard drive, a high-definition webcam and light located above the display panel, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, a card reader, and a FireWire port. A dial-up modem was also included. The sound system featured an internal microphone and integrated stereo speakers, but external stereo devices could be used. Common to professional notebooks, both a Touchpad and an AccuPoint were available as pointing devices on all versions.
The Second Generation Core i-series processor, built upon the Sandy Bridge architecture, could be upgraded to other processors in this series, including the quad-core i7.
