HRLocker is an Irish HR Software Company founded in 2013, based in Lahinch, Co. Clare.[1] HRLocker's product is a cloud-based HR software service that digitally transforms the people management and recruitment efforts for professional companies.[2] The system is filled with various features like timesheets, holiday and absence management, training development, employee data, remote and dual working, performance reviews, recruitment and onboarding.[3] They are distributed in more than 55 countries.[4]

History

In 2004, Adam Coleman, then Head of HR for O2 (UK), returned home to Ireland.[5] In 2005, Adam was approached by John Dennehy, who wanted to develop a HR product.[6] The company grew from having just two employees to over fifteen. However, in 2007, with the downturn of the economy, Adam had to scale his business back down to three people.[7]

It wasn’t until 2011, after being approached by Assembly Point, a software development company in Cork, that the company developed into what would become HRLocker.[8]

In 2013, Dennehy sold all his shares of the business to Coleman.[9]

Company Identity

Due to its cloud-based nature, HRLocker is a remote-first company.[10] They describe themselves as a Deliberately Developmental Organisation (DDO) using adult development as the center of their strategy.[11] HRLocker operates as a transparent meritocracy where anyone in the business can openly challenge anyone else’s ideas.[12]

HRLocker is an Exponential Organisation (ExO) that focuses on making a positive impact. Being an ExO, their MTP (Massive Transformative Purpose) is “Making life and work easier for both Employees and Employers, allowing Employees to manage their careers in Company… and beyond”.[13]
