Hack The Web
Hack The Web is a puzzle game for computer science classes, which is particularly suitable for introducing learners to topics of applied computer science, web development and cryptography due to its gentle introduction.
The game is started by anonymous registration, after which you work your way through various tasks presented on a map. Each solved task unlocks new tasks that increase in difficulty. Registration is open to all, the main target group being teenagers in grades 9 to 13.[1]
The game was developed by David Li.[2] It is recommended for classroom use.[3] The game is fun for learners and students, even if the format is a bit unusual.[4] Hack The Web is supported by a specialist group of the Gesellschaft für Informatik.[5]
The project is constantly evolving, for example with new features on the platform and new tasks. In September 2023, Hack The Web had 100 tasks.[6]
