From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Hanan Ben-Ari (born April 8, 1988) is an Israeli singer, musician and composer.

Biography[edit]

Hanan Ben-Ari was born and raised in Karnei Shomron. His father is Herzl Ben-Ari, a former head of Karnei Shmron. Ari attended Barkai State Religious School and the Halichot Olam high school yeshiva in Karnei Shomron. Ari was musically influenced by his father who is a chazzan. At age thirteen Ari began to compose songs, publishing them on the Bikkurim website.

At seventeen, Ari began studying in Hesder Yeshiva Midbara K’Eden and served in the Netzah Yehuda Battalion of the IDF. He married his wife Hadassa in 2008. For the first six months of their marriage they lived in Bnei Brak. They subsequently lived in the Ramat Amidar neighborhood of Ramat Gan, near the Ramat Gan Yeshiva where Ari studied in Kollel, for four years. Later, they lived in Or Yehuda, where Ari taught at the Adar High School in Petah Tikva and was a singer in the wedding band Kolot.

Ari and his wife wrote for the bulletin “Olam Katan” and were the first editors of “Olam Katan - The Magazine,” now called “Makom B’Olam.”

In 2013, he created, with musicians Yaakov Asraf and Nir Rubin, the performance “Teens” - an educational musical performance for parents and adolescents.

In 2014, the dancer and choreographer Sagi Azran created a dance for the song "And Miriam Took," which Ben-Ari wrote and performed with Kolot, and the performance won third place in the national dance parade for that year.[1]

In December the same year, Ben-Ari has published his first single "From You To Me", which entered the playlist of Galgalatz, reaching fourth place in the station's weekly hit list and 34th place in the station’s annual hit list. The single was part of Ari’s debut album “Izun", released in July and August 2015, with the help of crowdfunding site “Headstart.” The amount raised in the campaign was the third highest raised for an Israeli album until then. In February 2016, the album, which received positive reviews, was certified gold by the IFPI.

In January 2016, Ben-Ari released a fourth single from his album “Our Life is Strawberries,” which he composed with his daughter. The song became a hit and won first place in Galgalatz's annual song of the year, and in the fifth place in Reshet Gimel’s song of the year for that year. Another song from the album, "Mother, If I Were...," reached 16th place on Galgalatz's list for that year.
