Hans Schulze (born October 7, 1930 in Bochum) is a German actor. The most popular films with Hans Schulze are Smog and The Machine to raise the dead.[1]
Carrer[edit]
From 1950 to 1953, Hans Schulze trained as an actor at Schauspielschule Bochum. The first theatrical engagements followed in Bonn, Münster, Oldenburg and Basel.
From 1963 to 1968 he was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. He interpreted there among others Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Stauffacher in William Tell by Friedrich Schiller and Robespierre in Danton's Death by Georg Büchner.
From 1968 to 1979, Hans Schulze was engaged at Schauspiel Köln, where he worked on other important theatrical roles. He appears there, among others, in the role of the Greek god Dionysos in the two plays The Bacchae by Euripides and in The Frogs by Aristophanes. He also played King Claudius in Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Antony in Antony and Cleopatra, by William Shakespeare, Mephisto in Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Piccolomi in Wallenstein by Friedrich Schiller, Hagen in Die Nibelungen by Friedrich Hebbel, Meister Anton in Maria Magdalena , by Friedrich Hebbel, Luka in The Lower Depths by Maxim Gorky and Macheath in The Threepenny Opera by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill.
From 1983 to 1986, he was engaged at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and from 1986 to 1989 another engagement at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel . In Munich, Hans Schulze interpreted, among others, Jacques in As You Like It by William Shakespeare, the Marquis de Sade in Marat/Sade by Peter Weiss and in 1986 the title role in the premiere of the play Ich, Feuerbach by Tankred Dorst.
From 1992 to 1994, Hans Schulze was engaged at the Theater Bremen. In 1999 he appeared at the National Theater Mannheim as Grand Inquisitor in Friedrich Schiller's Don Carlos. In 2002, he played Guillaume of Baskerville in a theatrical adaptation of the novel The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.
