Happiest Season is an upcoming American drama film directed by Clea DuVall and written by DuVall and Mary Holland. The film stars Kristen Stewart, and Mackenzie Davis.

A young woman plans to propose to her girlfriend while at her family’s annual holiday party is upended when she discovers her partner hasn’t yet come out to her conservative parents.

In April 2018, TriStar Pictures bought the worldwide distribution rights to the script titled Happiest Season[3], from writers Clea DuVall and Mary Holland, while DuVall would also be making her directorial debut withdirecting the film, which would be produced by Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner thorough their Temple Hill Productions and with co-financing from Entertainment One, which will handle UK and Canadian distribution and Sony Pictures handling distribution elsewhere through the TriStar label.[4]
Casting[edit]
In November 2018, it was reported that Kristen Stewart had been cast in the same-sex drama film, about a young woman who plans to propose to girlfriend at her family's annual holiday party.[5] In January 2019, Mackenzie Davis was cast in the film to play Stewart's character's girlfriend.[6]
Release[edit]
The film is scheduled to be released on November 20, 2020.[4]
