Hara (stylized in all caps) is a Filipino girl group hailing from and based in Davao City, Philippines. On February 25, 2026, they released their first single under Sony Music Philippines, a Eurohouse and dance-pop song called "My Love". It received positive reviews from music critics.
History
Name
The name "hara" derives from the pre-colonial royal term raja.[1] It also said to mean "beauty" and "strength".[2]
2026–present: Formation and pre-debut single
Hara was formed through an audition process in Davao City, Philippines that the members compared to a reality television competition.[2] The final line-up was trimmed to six members: Ai, Blythz, Ckhy, Lory, Tashi, and Yani.[3]
On February 25, 2026, Hara released their pre-debut single "My Love" under Sony Music Philippines. It has been described as a Eurohouse and dance-pop track about walking away from a romantic relationship.[4] However, Blythz stated in an interview with DZRH that the song can also apply to friendships and family. The radio station said that the song's message is about self-worth and women empowerment.[5] The song contains lyrics in English and Tagalog, with a bit of Cebuano (Bisaya).[2] It received a positive review from the Visayan magazine Kasing2, with writer Samantha Radaza calling it "sleek and well-produced" and praising Lory and Blythz's "lawom (deep)" and "unique" vocals especially, though she said it needed a "more dynamic hook".[6] A month after its release, in March, Rica Mae Labbao of Art+ said the song is suitable for Women's History Month because it embraces the "beauty of girlhood, vulnerability, and self-love".[7]
