Hard Frost is a novel by R. D. Wingfield in the popular series featuring Detective Inspector Jack Frost, coarse, crude, slapdash – and holder of the George Cross. The novel was filmed for the ITV detective series A Touch of Frost.

Plot introduction[edit]

A young boy is missing and another is found dead in a rubbish bag, a psychopath is going around stabbing babies, a fifteen-year-old has been abducted then found naked, a petty criminal is found dead, and 3 babies are suffocated and their mother is later found dead on a railway line. With Inspector Allenby helping at a neighbouring police station Inspector Frost must investigate these cases by himself.
