Harjit Kaur Talwandi is an Indian politician and member of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt).[1][2] She is currently serving as the President of the Women's Wing of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt).[3] Harjit is the daughter of Jagdev Singh Talwandi, former President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Shiromani Akali Dal.[4]
Personal Life[edit]
Harjit Kaur Talwandi was born to father Jagdev Singh Talwandi and mother Mohinder Kaur. She has three siblings, including Secretary General of Shiromani Akali Dal(Sanyukt) Ranjit Singh Talwandi.[5] She has two children.
Political Career[edit]
Till 2020,Harjit was the member of Shiromani Akali Dal.She along with other prominent leaders such as Paramjit Kaur Gulshan, Sewa Singh Sekhwan,etc joined Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) in 2020.[6] Harjit Kaur Talwandi along with Jagdish Singh Garcha seconded the proposal made by Paramjit Kaur Gulshan to make Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa as the President of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt)[7].
Under the Leadership of Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Harjit is currently serving as the President of Women's Wing of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt). [8][9]
