Harry Robert Holland (born 14 February 1999) is an English photographer, videographer, director and actor. Thanks to an early introduction to filmmaking, Holland has had a variety of creative pursuits throughout his life, creating content for both private and commercial audiences.

He is most known for his promotional videos taken on press tours of Sony Pictures' productions such as Spider-Man: Far From Home(2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Uncharted (2022).[1][2]

Early Life[edit]

Harry Holland was born on February 14th 1999 in Kingston upon Thames, London, to photographer Nicola (née Frost) and Dominic Holland, a comedian and author. He has three brothers, one of which is his twin. Holland was educated at Richard Challoner School[3] and BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon.[4]

Career[edit]

Acting[edit]

Holland made his acting debut in The Impossible (2012) but was unfortunately cut from the final version of the film. Regardless, he has stated that seeing the process of filmmaking up close while living on set for six months inspired him to pursue it further in life.[5]

At the age of 13, Holland was invited to portray young Prince Harry in Diana (2013) thanks to Naomi Watts' recommendation.[6] He has later stated that he prefers being behind the camera rather than in front of it.[7] Holland has since had small cameo roles in a variety of movies starring his brother, Tom Holland, such as a drug dealer in Cherry (2021) and a thief in Spider-Man: No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff (2021).[8]

Directing[edit]

After inheriting his brother's laptop at 12, Holland first started experimenting with making short videos of his own. In 2017, Holland directed a teaser trailer for The Mysterious House on Hoarder Hill, starring his youngest brother Paddy.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Holland released his short film Roses for Lily (2020) - produced by Patrick Pendergast and Ben Perkins, with Harry Holland directing, editing, and co-writing the script - to the public on his Youtube channel[9]; in 2022 the film was removed from Holland's channel due to undisclosed circumstances.

Photography and videography[edit]

In his teens Holland also took an interest in photography, at first using his mother's camera - the hobby quickly became an important part of his life, helping him relieve stress and anxiety.[10]

Holland first became a professional videographer in 2017, documenting the press tour for Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).[11] In 2019 Holland became an ambassador for Nikon.[12] Since then he has also been a videographer for the press tours of Spider-Man: Far From Home(2019), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and Uncharted (2022).[1][2]

Charity[edit]

Holland regularly partakes and creates promotional content of fundraising events of his family charity, The Brothers Trust, that is keen to shine a light on charities who struggle to be heard in the noisy and competitive not-for-profit sector - and charities who can best demonstrate the most effective use of funds to profit the people in need.[13]
