Haruichi Furudate (古舘 春一 Furudate Haruichi) is a Japanese manga artist best known for creating the shōnen manga series Haikyū!!. Furudate was born on March 7, 1982 in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, and is currently employed by Shueisha. Furudate's gender has never been officially revealed to the public, but the general belief among Japanese readers, since the manga artist has never attended any event, is that Furudate is female.
