Haruichi Furudate (古舘 春一 Furudate Haruichi) is a Japanese manga artist best known for creating the shōnen manga series Haikyū!!. Furudate was born on March 7, 1982, in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, and is currently employed by Shueisha. Furudate's gender has never been officially revealed to the public, but the general belief among Japanese readers, since the manga artist has never attended any public event, is that Furudate is female.
