Hassan is a film released in 22 June of 2018. It was written, directed, produced and starred Emaan.

Synopsis[edit]

Hassan (portrayed by Emaan) has important hopes, in the troubled city of Kabul, Afghanistan. But the unsafe circumstances prevent his hopes to be fulfilled and he had to leave his goal and leave the country to seek refuge a broad, but there, he faces different types of issues.

Hassan runs a non-profit lotto company which helps to treat poor sick kids with heart diseases. After losing his organization financially and his Mother, Hassan is left with no choice but to leave the country and join his fiancé Tabasom(portrayed by Leena Alam) in Canada. Struggling to adjust to new culture, the couple decides to follow their dreams and passion and return to their homeland and to re-establish Hassan's lotto company.

Production[edit]

Hassan's production took place in Kabul, Afghanistan and Toronto, Canada, with the musical score in India (courtesy of Dhanesh Raj). The crew is comprised mostly of Afghan background.[1].

Critical Reception[edit]

Hassan was the first Afghan movie to have had such a splash in social media during its initial release. It was Emaan's biggest debut after Barbad Raftha (2004). It currently has an 8.2/10 on IMDb. It screen in Virginia, California, two theaters in Toronto, and 8 theaters in Kabul.
